What is Report Fraud? The service that replaced Action Fraud
Action Fraud is gone. Since 4 December 2025, fraud and cyber crime in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are reported to Report Fraud, run by the City of London Police.
Where and how to report
- Online: reportfraud.police.uk
- By phone: 0300 123 2040
- Scotland: call Police Scotland on 101.
Anyone who searches for or tries to use Action Fraud is redirected to the new service. Official pages such as HMRC's and the FCA's have been updated to name Report Fraud.
What goes where
- You lost money or shared bank details: your bank first, then Report Fraud.
- A scam text you did not act on: forward it to 7726.
- Unwanted marketing texts or calls: the ICO.
- A fake HMRC text: 60599 or phishing@hmrc.gov.uk.
- A loan or investment firm you are unsure about: the FCA Firm Checker and Warning List.
