What the site is

TextCheckUK is an independent information service. The number checker shows what Ofcom's published numbering data says about the range a number belongs to: the provider the range was originally allocated to and whether it is allocated at all. It cannot tell you who owns or used a number: numbers can be moved to another provider (ported) and caller ID can be faked. The scam text checker lists red flags from official guidance; it is not a verdict that a message is or is not a scam.

TextCheckUK is not affiliated with Ofcom, the FCA, the ICO, HMRC, any police service or any company named on the site. Nothing here is legal or financial advice. If you have lost money, contact your bank and the police reporting service named on the site.

Advertising

The site is free and may show advertising from Google. Adverts are chosen by Google, not by us, and are not a recommendation. We do not sell loans, debt services or claims management, and we do not pass your details to anyone.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at scale, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access that harms the service.

Liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Softmed Labs SRL is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the results or from interruptions of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
