07 mobile numbers: who texted me from an 07 number?
Most unknown texts come from an 07 number. Not every 07 number is a mobile, and the network shown by any lookup is the range's original holder.
Ofcom's numbering plan gives 071 to 075 and 077 to 079 to mobile services; 07624 is the Isle of Man. Two 07 ranges are not mobiles at all: 070 numbers are personal 'follow me' numbers that forward calls, and 076 numbers are for pagers.
The range holder is the company Ofcom allocated the block to. People keep their number when they change network, so today's network can differ, and scammers can fake the number shown on your screen. A range Ofcom lists as free or protected cannot belong to a real phone.

- Can I find out who owns an 07 number?
- Not from public data. Ofcom publishes which company each block of numbers was allocated to, not who uses a number. Only your provider or the police can trace a sender, which is why reporting to 7726 matters.
- Is 07624 a UK mobile?
- It is an Isle of Man range, listed in Ofcom's plan as radiopaging and mobile services under the Isle of Man Communications Commission.
- Why does a mobile number show as allocated to a company I have never heard of?
- Many smaller providers hold mobile ranges. The name is the original range holder, not necessarily the person's network today.
