076 numbers: pager numbers

Ofcom's numbering plan keeps 076 for radiopaging, not ordinary mobiles. The one exception is 07624, an Isle of Man mobile range.

Check a number

Radiopaging means sending messages over radio to pagers. The ranges are held by a small number of providers (see the table), so a text or call from an 076 number is unusual.

GOV.UK's call-charges page does not list a price for 076 numbers. If you need to call one, ask your provider what it costs first.

As with any number, the range holder shown is the original allocation and the number on your screen can be faked.

Ofcom lists 800 blocks: 117 allocated to 13 providers and 373 free, protected or quarantined (files of 2026-09-04).

Frequently asked questions

Is 076 a mobile number?
No, except 07624. Ofcom's plan designates 076 for radiopaging services.
Why would a pager number text me?
It is unusual. Check the full number in the number checker: if the range is not allocated, the sender faked it.
